Hamelin Trust is committed to supporting children and adults with learning disabilities and their families, by providing a range of appropriate high quality services. Working in partnership with the individuals they support and their families, ensures their services are person centred to meet individual needs.
Recognising the essential support work conducted by Hamelin Trust, our support for the charity began in early 2016 and has since evolved over time. We currently support Hamelin Trust by donating IT and telecom hardware for recycling and also by volunteering our time.
Immervox donate all obsolete, dated and decommissioned IT and Telecom hardware, both returned to us by our clients and from our own usage to Hamblin Trust for the safe decommission, wipe, refurbishment and re-sale through their charity shops.
Redundant IT is reused or recycled to help raise funds to support the work of Hamelin Trust and is processed in accordance with the WEEE directive 2007. Hamelin Trust operates Reuse and Recycle projects which support disabled adults in gaining IT related skills, by wiping and reinstalling software to dismantling and rebuilding PC systems.
All hard drives undergo secure data removal using Zero Data software. Hamelin Trust is part of the Microsoft Registered Refurbisher Scheme which allows them to provide low cost reused starter PC's.
We also support Hamelin Trust by volunteering our best asset we can give; our time. A great example of the team efforts in this regard; on 16th June 2016 the team volunteered for the day at Hamelin Trust's Sutton Bridge Farm site.
Nicky Evans, Fundraiser at Hamelin Trust said “it is wonderful to have staff from Immervox supporting the charity by volunteering for the day at Sutton Bridge Farm, Rochford. The individuals with disabilities will benefit from everyone’s hard work – which has an impact on their lives, improving health and well-being. A massive thank you from everyone at Hamelin Trust.”
Time is one of the most valuable gifts you can give. Volunteering can be very rewarding and a lot of fun. It’s a great way to make new friends, learn new skills and gain valuable work experience.
Hamelin Trust has a range of volunteering opportunities, if you would like to find out more visit their volunteering information page here.
