We’re now less than a year away from the Nationwide Stop Sell, where new traditional PSTN products will cease being sold – this comes into effect on 5th September 2023.
If you have not yet started thinking about your options for the big switch off in December 2025, there is no better time than the present. We’ve already helped many of our clients transition their entire estate over to all-IP, meaning they are prepared for business as usual with no disruptions when the switch off time arrives.
The right product will depend very much on you and your business, however, many businesses have found these types of products suitable:
- VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) – a digital voice replacement for a telephone line that allows you to continue to make and receive calls using your existing numbers, supported by a broadband connection.
- FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) – the most reliable broadband technology. Unlike traditional copper-based technology, FTTP does not lose signal over distance or with environment changes.
- SOGEA (Single Order Generic Ethernet Access) – a data-only broadband solution that does not include voice services. Voice becomes an ‘Over The Top’ like any other data service.
